Kazakhstan to remove limits on FDI in telecom

Kazakhstan plans to remove the limit on investments in the country’s telecommunications sector within 30 months of joining the WTO. A ceiling of 49 percent applies currently to ownership by foreign entities of Kazakhstan telecommunications companies.
Kazakhstan has concluded negotiations on joining the WTO, and is expected to join the trade organisation in the near future.
