KMG EP to buy 50% stake in Kazakh oil block
(SRI) – KazMunaiGas Exploration Production (KMG EP) announced on Friday it will plans to acquire a 50% stake in Ural Group Ltd, which owns the exploration license for the Fedorovskiy oil and gas block near the city of Uralsk in northwestern Kazakhstan, for $149.1 million.

KazMunaiGas asks banks for $1-billion loan

AES considering international arbitration against Kazakhstan
(SRI) – AES, a U.S.-based power utility operating in Kazakhstan, could file a suit against the Kazakh government in the London Court of International Arbitration if the two sides fail to reach a consensus in an ongoing investment dispute, AES vice president Michael Jonagan said last week.

Zhaikmunai sets yield guidance for Eurobond issue
(SRI) – Zhaikmunai LP, a Kazakhstan-focused oil company, has set yield guidance on a planned $400-million five-year Eurobond at 10.75-11%, Reuters reported on Tuesday citing a source at one of the lead managers.
